Transport To and From Hook of Holland

The Hook of Holland is well-linked to all provinces in the Netherlands. There are regular and efficient railway services and the country has one of Europe's best road networks. Taxis, trains and private hire cars can all be arranged at the onboard information counter or at the ferry terminal building.

Bus and shuttles from Hook of Holland

There are two frequent bus services which follow routes from the port to outlying areas. Bus number 128 follows a route to Delft Station, near the town of Naaldwijk. Meanwhile, bus number 135 provides a service to The Hague, stopping at the Central Railway Station.

Car hire and road travel from Hook of Holland

Accessing the port by road isn't difficult. You should take the E30 / E25 highway network and follow the signs for 'Engeland' or 'Hoek van Holland'. The ride should take no more than 30 minutes from Rotterdam or The Hague, less from nearby towns like Gravenzande, Naaldwijk or Monster.

Private hire cars can be booked in advance at the ferry terminal or onboard the ferries. Car hire services are also available at some of the better hotels, and you do not need an International Driving Licence to drive in the Netherlands. Due to Holland's compact size, it is easy to reach all of the country's attractions by car in just a day or two.

We recommend that you book car hire in advance online, where there is one reliable service providing the best deals from a number of reputed hire firms such as Budget, Avis, National, Thrifty and Hertz.

Railway tickets are available at the information desks on the craft or at the ferry terminal. Every 30 minutes, train services depart from the Hook of Holland for The Hague and Rotterdam. The Amsterdam Express rail service and local train services stop at the port. The Netherlands has an extensive railway network and almost every locality in the country can be reached by train. Nederlande Spoorwegen (Dutch Railways) is the country's main train operator. For more travel information, visit their official website at: www.ns.nl/pages/index.html.

Taxis are available near the ferry terminal, where they wait for arriving ferry passengers; however, in the Netherlands, it is customary to book a taxi in advance by telephone. Taxi services can be arranged at information counters onboard the ferries or at the ferry terminal. Taxi Rooney is a well-established taxi firm in the Hook of Holland. They provide 24-hour services and can be reached by calling: +44 174 388888.
