Boulogne Ferry Port Information

Boulogne is situated on the north coast of France a short distance across the channel from Dover and just 30 km from Calais.

Boulogne sur Mer still has a very strong fishing business and in 2009 became the real alternative to Calais for short sea crossings.

The town centre can be reached easily on foot in just 5 minutes. Once in the centre you can't help but notice the 14th century cathedral a reconstruction of that in Notre Dame. Within the town there are numerous restaurents, bars and shops, a tourist information centre and if you venture out of town along the coast you can visit many fine sandy beaches.

Once at Boulogne road links to the rest of France are excellent with direct access to the A16 connecting you to France's extensive road network, making it an ideal destination from which to explore the rest of France.

Boulogne Ferries | Services & Facilities

Boulogne ferry port facilities are fairly limited as it is so close to the town centre.

However there is a free car park outside the terminal providing a direct link from the terminal to the town centre via a pedestrian footbridge.

Early 2009 LD Lines started operating the Boulogne to Dover ferry route. The 'Norman Spirit' operates the Dover to Boulogne route carrying both freight and passengers. The ship has a capacity of 1850 passengers, 250 cars and 75 freight vehicles. Onboard there are restaurents, cafeterias and a pub.

There are 4 crossings a day taking just 1 hour 45 minutes.
