Port of Troon services
The Scottish Port of Troon is owned and operated by the Associated British Ports, which is the most powerful port group in Great Britain. The facility is a pivotal ferry port and a vital fishing port in the west of Scotland. Troon Port is one of the most sheltered harbours in the western part of Scotland, and it boasts an excellent and efficient transport infrastructure.
Facilities at the Seacat Ferry Terminal feature a spacious Departures Hall and the availability of vending machines and snacks. A new and modern P&O Irish Sea terminal was opened in 2001. P&O Irish Sea runs a cargo service between Troon and Ireland two times daily. Due to the company's moving to Troon, P&O Irish Sea is now able to use bigger vessels than what they used to operate on the line to Larne. In addition, P&O Irish Sea also provides a high-speed ferry service.
The vital marina is impressive. Many types of yachts and boats can be seen here year-round. Here you also have the option to hire a boat for a daytrip or longer. The spacious beaches, North and South Sands, are not to be missed when visiting Troon.

In 1999, SeaCat extended its ferry services, providing a line between the Port of Troon and the Northern Irish city of Belfast. By car, Glasgow can be reached in just 30 minutes from the town of Troon; however, with a sailing time of 2 hours, 30 minutes, the sea voyage offers more convenience to motorists and day-trippers.
P&O Irish Sea Ferries also operates daily sailings between Troon Port and the Port of Larne in the North of Ireland. Travel time onboard the P&O Express high-speed vessel is less than 2 hours. There are convenient passenger facilities onboard including an accessible outside deck, a bar and a restaurant, a gift shop and a play area for children. The service is only operated from March to October.
