The Port Of Pembroke

Based at the former Royal Naval Dockyard, Pembroke Dock, Pembroke Port offers the facility of a major deepwater, dry cargo dock. Pembroke port has a long history of importance, retaining its significance as a working port to this day.

It began life in the middle ages as one of the main ports for traveling to Ireland. It also had a castle that was one of the strongest fortresses in the kingdom.

Both the town and the castle developed and were fortified together. Pembroke ferry port is located on the South Western tip of Wales & offers close access to the M4 motorway.

The sole operator on the Pembroke route - Irish Ferries operate a twice daily service from Pembroke to Rosslare. The £38 million purpose-built Ro-Ro Terminal at Pembroke Dock provides comprehensive modern, ferry terminal facilities. It is used twice daily by Irish Ferries for their ferry service between Pembroke and Rosslare, and there are occasional calls by other ships. The Milford Docks Company provides all on-shore services at the Ferry Port.
