The Port of Patras

The port of Patras is situated in western Greece and provides a pivotal gateway to the country from Western Europe and Italy. Corfu and other Ionian Islands can easily be reached by ferry services and Italy's south coast is within easy reach as well.

The port facility itself is positioned close to the centre of the town, where plenty of restaurants, hotels and shops can be found as amenities within the port itself aren't extensive. There is, however, a short-duration and long-duration parking facility and a currency exchange service available just behind the terminal building.

There are several year-round vehicle and passenger ferry crossings from Patras to other destinations in Greece and Italy. Services are of high quality.

A busy daily sailing from Patras to Ancona is provided by Superfast Ferries. It takes the craft approximately 20 hours to reach the Port of Ancona in Italy from Patras. The company also operates a route to the southeastern Italian Port of Bari with a sailing time of about 15 hours, 30 minutes.

Port of Patras services

Anek Lines Ferries also offers a daily ferry service from Patras to Ancona with a crossing time of approximately 22 hours; a slightly longer duration of the sea voyage than Superfast Ferries due to a stop-off at Greece's northwestern Port of Igoumenitsa.

Minoan Lines provide the Patras-Ancona route as well. Their vessel completes the journey also in about 20 hours. Minoan Lines also runs the Patras-Corfu-Igoumenitsa-Venice ferry service. The total sailing time on this long distance sea voyage is 27 hours.

Italian Venice Line Ferries sails the Patras-Venice route as well. The duration of the journey aboard their ferry lasts about 23 hours.

Blue Star Ferries is another reputed and well established ferry operator that offers direct daily crossings from Patras to Ancona; daily services to Ancona via Igoumenitsa, and four weekly operations on the Patras-Corfu-Igoumenitsa-Venice service, lasting between 27 and 35 hours.

The Patras-Igoumenitsa-Brindisi service is run by Maritime Way. Brindisi is situated in Italy's southeast below Bari and is served on a daily base in the summer season with reduced services in the winter. The duration of the voyage is approximately 14 hours, 30 minutes.

Hellenic Mediterranean Lines also offers sailings to the Port of Brindisi in Italy, directly from Patras. During high season the company operates daily services with a sailing time of about 15 hours.
