Ferry routes from Ostend

The only passenger ferry service leaving the Port of Ostend is operated by Transeuropa Ferries. The operator runs a route to Ramsgate in England. Ferryways provides two ferry services from Ostend, one to Killingholme and one to Ipswich. These, however, are cargo vessels solely.

Ostend to Ramsgate ferries

Eight times daily Transeuropa Ferries's vessels leave from the Port of Ostend to Ramsgate. It takes the ferry about four hours to reach the Port of Ramsgate in England from Ostend. The town of Ramsgate became an important port during the Second World War when the Dunkirk evacuation took place when more than 4,000 crafts left Ramsgate. Their difficult mission was to rescue thousands of soldiers from Dunkirk's beaches.
