Port of Newcastle services
Newcastle's port facility (the Port of Tyne) is positioned 10 miles east of the centre of the city on the Tyne River's north bank.
The advanced, recently refurbished, terminals provide outstanding amenities featuring six check-in counters, automated baggage handling and covered walkways. Annually 800,000 passengers pass through the facility.
Additional cargo amenities are available; both DFDS Tor Line and DFDS Fjord Line offer haulage and warehousing services at their respective cargo terminals.

The Terminals are equipped with facilities for physically disabled people, and those with special needs can arrange boarding assistance when they make their booking.
DFDS Seaways offers daily crossings to Amsterdam in Holland and two crossings per week to Gothenburg, Sweden and Kristiansand in Norway. Duration of the journey to Gothenburg (via Kristiansand) is about 26 hours. The sailing time to Kristiansand is 17 hours and the duration of the voyage to Amsterdam lasts about 16 hours. During the winter Fjord Line operates two passenger and cargo services to the Norwegian ports of Bergen, Stavanger, and Haugesund, with an additional weekly service during the summer. The duration of the voyage to the destinations in Norway is about 27 hours.
