One of the routes is operated by Stena Line while the other two sailings are run by P&O Irish Sea. Stena Line offers a route to Fleetwood in England, while P&O Irish Sea sails routes from Larne to Troon in Scotland and Cairnryan. Larne to Fleetwood ferriesStena Linee operates the popular Larne to Fleetwood crossing. Blackpool is situated nearby Fleetwood. Although this sailing provides limited accommodation for passengers, there are up to three sailings every day. It takes the ferry about 8 hours to reach the Port of Fleetwood from Larne. Fleetwood is a large roll-on, roll-off port and is well linked to the world renowned coastal city of Blackpool. Port facilities aren't extensive, however, with a coffee shop and mini-supermarket available. Positioned on the Lancashire coast, Fleetwood is a perfect base for cruises to the Irish Sea and Morecambe Bay. Larne to Cairnryan ferriesThe busiest and most established ferry crossing on the Irish Sea is the Larne to Cairnryan route. Three conventional fast vessels operate nine return voyages each day between the two ports. The duration of the trip just lasts 1 hour, 45 minutes.
Situated on Scotland's southwest coast, the Port of Cairnryan boasts outstanding passenger and cargo amenities, with a relaxing concourse, a play and fun area for kids, baby changing areas, a snack-bar, a convenience shop and sufficient designated amenities for physically handicapped passengers. Larne to Troon ferriesP&O Irish Sea provides the seasonal passenger-only sailing between Larne and Troon. This service is only available from March to October. There are two daily services on this route with a voyage time of less than two hours. Positioned to the north of Ayr, the Seacat Terminal at the Port of Troon is easy to reach by car and features a vast comfortable lounge and several vending machines where cold and hot fast foods are available. The wonderful natural port is now home to a large marina and is arguably the chief boating centre in the Firth of Clyde. Troon is an ideal base from which to travel to the Isle of Aran, outlying Hebrides, or other picturesque islands or drive inland to visit the cosmopolitan city of Glasgow. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
