Port of Heysham services

The port of Heysham is situated at the south of Morecambe bay and from here it is possible to reach Douglas on the Isle of Man by passenger and car ferry.

The port features sufficient passenger facilities, including: designated lavatories for disabled passengers, a comfortable lounge with television, a snack-bar, children's fun area, vending machines selling hot and cold appetizers and drinks, and a Little Chef restaurant.

The terminal is wheelchair-friendly and all areas can be easily accessed. Assistance with boarding for physically handicapped passengers can be arranged, although passengers with special needs are recommended to notify the ferry company prior to departure.

The port has a good transport infrastructure due to efficient connections by trains and coaches. A road network which is easy to navigate provides good access in to and out of the harbour and surrounding area.

Isle of Man Steam Packet Company operates from the Port of Heysham, providing regular sailings to Douglas on the Isle of Man. There are conventional and fast ferries departing from Heysham. The fast service takes about two hours to reach Douglas from Heysham. Meanwhile conventional vessels make the voyage in 3 hours, 30 minutes. Fast and conventional ferry boats both provide maximum comfort, making the trip a pleasant experience for passengers.
