Ferry companies from Fleetwood

Two shipping companies offer ferry crossings from the Port of Fleetwood. The chief operator is Stena Line, which offers two daily sailings to Larne in Northern Ireland, while the secondary company is the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, which provides limited sailings between Fleetwood and Douglas on the Isle of Man.

Stena Line

Stena Line operates two daily crossings to Larne in Northern Ireland with a sailing duration of approximately 8 hours. Other UK routes operated by the company include: Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire and Dublin Port; Stranraer to Belfast; and Fishguard to Rosslare. The company offers an extensive Great Britain and Ireland ocean route network, including 17 fast ferry services around Great Britain and Scandinavian localities.

Stena Line has three vessels making the sea voyage to Larne: Stena Leade, Stena Pioneer, and Stena Seafarer. All three crafts provide comfortable en-suite cabins, lounges with televisions and video games, and a small number of shops. Self-service restaurants are also on hand, along with pubs serving non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.

Isle of Man Steam Packet Company

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is the world's oldest continuously operating ferry operator and offers a handful of weekly sailings to Douglas on the Isle of Man, with the number of sailings increasing during the summer months. The company's other routes feature Dublin, Liverpool, Heysham and Douglas.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has a modest but modern selection of ferries in its fleet, among which are the SuperSeaCat II and the Ben-My-Chree. The Ben-My-Chree is a conventional ferry which can accommodate 630 passengers including staff and has a capacity for 275 vehicles. Meanwhile, the SuperSeaCat II can carry 690 travellers and crew as well as 147 cars.

Both of the vessels are comfortably fitted for passenger traffic and offer relaxing lounges with televisions as well as cafés serving hot and cold drinks and a variety of snacks. Some ferries also have onboard mini-markets.
