Port of Dover services

The port of Dover is one of the most vital and most popular ports on the globe. The port dates back to the 17^th Century. Positioned on the southeast coast of England near the remarkable 'White Cliffs of Dover', the Port of Dover features state-of-the-art amenities to handle over 16 million passengers and 2.5 million vehicles, buses and coaches annually. Dover port also handles an estimated two million cargo vehicles per year.

SeaFrance operates the Dover-Calais route as well, and after P&O Ferries' service it is the busiest. The company provides a faster service than P&O Ferries with a crossing time of just 1 hour. The fast Renoir crafts, which can carry 1, 800 passengers and 280 cars, are the ferries SeaFrance uses for the route.

Norfolkline offers a daily sailing between Dover and Dunkirk in France. The duration of the voyage lasts about two hours. Norfolkline operates the highly advanced Midnight Merchant and Northern Merchant ferries. These vessels provide excellent amenities including a large concourse.

Boulogne in France is serviced five times daily by SpeedFerries. The operator offers the fastest crossing between Dover and Boulogne in France, with a sailing time of just 50 minutes. The company has fast catamarans sailing the route.

In late 2005, the Hoverspeed high-speed service from Dover to Calais, was discontinued.
