Port of Cuxhaven services

Cuxhaven Port has been an important tourist destination since 1866 when it was a route from Hamburg to the Isle of Helgoland. During the embarkation of millions of emigrants from Eastern Europe and Germany, the Port of Cuxhaven played a predominant part in the logistics.

The famous White Star Line also used the port for routes between Cuxhaven and Canada until 1954. Transatlantic travel at Cuxhaven port ended in 1969 due to the boom in air travel.
