DFDS Seaways
Founded in 1866 DFDS Seaways is northern Europe’s largest integrated shipping and logistics company. They operate a network of 30 routes with 60 freight and passenger ships. DFDS has 5,000 employees in 20 countries, and revenue will reach DKK 12 billion in 2011.
DFDS use two cruise ferries on the Copenhagen to Oslo route, the Pearl Seaways and Crown Seaways. The sailing departs early evening providing a comfortable overnight crossing each way taking 16 hours, 30 minutes.
Pearl Seaways has recently undergone a major renovation bringing it fully up-to-date. It has a capacity to hold 2,168 guests with an abundance of onboard facilities including 7 restaurants, shops and bars. For entertainment there's a cinema, disco and even bingo.
Crown Seaways also has a wide range of restaurants, bars and cafés, plus a variety of conference facilities, a cinema and plenty of activities for children. This cruise ferry has room for 1,940 passengers and 450 cars.
