Ferry companies from Caen

There is just one company operating from the Port of Caen. Brittany Ferries operates the daily ferry services between Caen port and the Port of Portsmouth in the south of England.

Brittany Ferries has become one of the principal maritime carriers on the Central and Western Channel. Today, Brittany Ferries has a modern and highly advanced fleet of eight crafts. The company employs over 2,500 people. It accounts for more than 50% of the Western Channel's traffic, transporting in excess of 2.6 million people, 780, 000 vehicles and 170, 000 trucks annually.

Besides the Caen-Portsmouth route, the operator runs the following cross channel sailings: Cork to Roscoff, Plymouth to Santander, Plymouth to Roscoff, Poole to Cherbourg, Portsmouth to Cherbourg and Portsmouth to St Malo.

The Normandie is the company's conventional craft which is operational on the Caen-Portsmouth route. Onboard facilities are extensive and include baby care service, cabaret, cinema, comfortable cabins, restaurants and bars.

The second craft is the Normandie Express. This ship has slightly less facilities compared with the Normandie but the journey aboard this high-speed vessel is much faster.
