Ferry companies from Bergen

The major ferry companies operating from the Port of Bergen are Color line, Smyril Line, and Fjordline. All of them are well established and experienced. They provide routes to Newcastle in England, Hirtshals in Denmark, Lerwick on the Shetland Islands and Tórshavn on the Faroe Islands.

Color line

Color line was established in 1990. Nowadays Color Line carries more than 4.2 million travellers and over 800,000 vehicles and 160,000 trailers annually. Color line operates seven international ferry sailings between ten ports in Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. The company has a fleet of ten vessels operating the routes.

Fjordline

Fjordline operates ferry services from western Norway to Great Britain and Denmark. The company, which has over 120 years of experience of shipping services, operates a fleet of modern cruise ferries linking Western Norway to the United Kingdom and the continent. Their head office is located in Bergen. Approximately 300 employees work for the shipping company and two of their vessels, the Fjord Norway and the Atlantic Traveller, provide transportation for cargo, passengers and cars. Some of the onboard facilities include comfortable cabins, a buffet restaurant, a dance bar, bistro, and a pub.

Fjordline provides crossings between Bergen and Newcastle, England. This voyage takes about 26 hours and usually is operated up to three times weekly.
