Ferry companies from Bari

Companies operating from the Port of Bari include Ventouris Ferries, Superfast Ferries, Azzurraline and Minoan Lines. Superfast provides sea voyages to Patras, Igoumenitsa, Cephalonia and Corfu; Azzurraline's ferries travel to Dubrovnik, Kotor, and Durres; Ventouris crosses to Corfu, Durres and Igoumenitsa and Minoan Lines has sailings to Patras.

Minoan Lines Ferry Company

Minoan's advanced fleet encompasses eight crafts and the shipping company has 30 years experience. Minoan Lines has won the Lloyds List Passenger Line of the Year award in 2005. Their fleet operates ferry services to 79 destinations between Italian, Greek and other Mediterranean destinations. All crafts are equipped with airline-style seats and accommodate travellers with spacious lounges, and a selection of beverages and snacks. Ventouris Ferry Company

Ventouris Ferry Company provides ferry crossings between Bari and Igoumenitsa and Durres, with sailings to Cephalonia and Corfu available only during the summer season.

The service to Durrės is available two times weekly. It takes the craft about nine hours to reach the Port of Durres from Bari.

Ferries navigating to Igoumenitsa depart daily with a sailing time of 9 hours, 30 minutes. During the summer season, this sea voyage is made via an en-route stop at Corfu port (eight hours).

The fleet includes the Siren and the Polaris. These two crafts serve Igoumenitsa ports, Cephalonia and Corfu. Meanwhile, the Athens Express and Ionis and the both operates ferry crossings to the port of Durrės in Albania.

The Ventouris fleet offers high-speed services between Italy, the Greek Ionian Islands and mainland Greece. The ferries are manned by attentive crew and amenities include relaxing, air-conditioned cabins, tax-free shops and spacious concourses with comfortable seats.

Azzurraline Ferry Company

Since 2001 Italian Azzurraline provides ferry services across the Adriatic Sea, linking Bari port with the ports of Kotor (Montenegro), Durres (Albania) and Dubrovnik (Croatia). Yearly, Azzurra transports over 6,000 vehicles and 50,000 persons.

Azzurra ferries leave every day for the Port of Dubrovnik, Croatia during the summer season from June to September, with a crossing time of about 7 hours, 30 minutes. Twice weekly the vessels sail at night.

Ferries to Albania navigate for Durres three times weekly, with a sailing time of approximately 8 hours, 30 minutes. The distance of the sea voyage is 125 nautical miles.

A more recent service to Kotor (Montenegro) has been operational since 2005. This sea voyage lasts about nine hours and is operated two times per week, always at night.

Azzurra ships are owned by the Maltese company, the A.S.C. Ltd., shipping company. They operate services under Italian management. The company provides high-standard services, along with a relaxed and quiet voyage. All of the crafts meet with SOLAS standards for passenger ferries and are registered by the Italian Classification Society.

Superfast Ferries

Superfast Ferries offers ferry services between Greece and Italy. All of their advanced crafts were built in Germany and are relatively new.

From the end of June to early September Superfast Ferries operates a ferry service from Bari to Corfu. During this period services are available every second day. The duration of the sea voyage is approximately eight hours.

A vessel leaves every day for Igoumenitsa with a sailing time of 9 hours, 30 minutes and for Patras with a sailing time of 15 hours, 30 minutes. During the summer months vessels make an additional stop at Corfu.

The Superfast fleet includes the Superfast VI and Superfast V. These crafts can accommodate 1,595 people and are capable of carrying up to 1,000 vehicles. The Superfast X, Superfast IX, Superfast VIII and Superfast VII are similarly sized, but their capacity is slightly smaller, accommodating between 626 and 717 passengers and up to 900 cars. Onboard amenities on all of these ships include shops, conference rooms, driver's lounges, reception and children's playrooms. Passengers can dine at the a la carte restaurant or in the self-service eatery. Alcoholic drinks are available in the open deck bar and the bar lounge. Further recreational amenities feature a disco, casino and a swimming pool with bar.

The Superfast XII and the Superfast XI are capable of accommodating 1,550 passengers and have room for 661 cars. Amenities are similar to those provided on the other ships, with the addition of internet access, satellite TV and a video games room.
