Ski entusiasts encouraged to get insured

Sku travellers expected to hit the slopes in droves this year
A recent research showed that 80 per cent of holidaymakers who failed to go for skiing last holiday season are going back to the slopes for this year’s season.
With this situation in mind, Post Office Travel Insurance advised travellers heading for the slopes to ensure that their yearly travel insurance policies are not expired. The insurance company is also reminding holidaymakers to read the small print on their policy to make certain that they have the required coverage for their planned winter sports activities.
The travel insurance firm’s policies offer protection for a wide variety of winter sport-related eventualities. For instance, Post Office Travel Insurance covers around £300 for piste closures. In addition, another policy plan is capable to cover up to £700 for loss of winter sport equipment.
The insurance company advises frequent travellers as well to take the annual multi-trip travel insurance instead, since it is a much cheaper alternative than multiple single-trip policies. With annual multi-trip travel policy, any named dependent under the age of 18 travelling together with an insured parent is also covered by the policy at no cost.
With the Winter Olympics just few days away, Post Office Travel Insurance advises travellers planning to visit the host city Vancouver to make simple insurance checks, especially if they are planning to personally try some winter sports activities.
The Canadian city is expecting 2.3 million visitors for the February games. As part of the event, city visitors will be able to trial a downhill ski course and snowboarding in a half-pipe.
