Car Insurance in Sheffield UK's most expensive
People who live in the city of Sheffield and take out car insurance are finding that they are being charged significantly more than motorists in other parts of the United Kingdom.
In fact, the results of a recent survey have revealed that residents of Sheffield are being charged an incredible thirteen per cent more than many people.
The survey showed that the average cost to insure a cheap car in Sheffield is £241.66, while the national average for other cities in around £212.99. According to City Car Club, which is the biggest car club network in the UK, this makes Sheffield the 12th most expensive city in the whole of the United Kingdom.
According to the company, the high fee is due to the fact that there are a large number of uninsured drivers on the roads in the city, which means that chances that insurance companies will have to pay out to those who do subscribe is markedly higher.
It has been found that people who live in the city have to pay a lot more for car insurance than people who live in the countryside or villages as the chance of having an accident in the city is much higher. People who live in the centre of Bradford city centre have to pay £371.07, while resident of Leeds are charged £257.42.
According to the AA British Insurance Premium Index, car insurance premiums have risen by an average of 14 per cent in the past year, which is the highest increase ever recorded and comes at a time when few people have the extra cash to spare.
