Ryanair announces expansions in Oslo, Liverpool and Bristol

Despite the post-recession blues currently plaguing the travel industry, low-cost airline giant Ryanair has continued to show Impressive growth.

Recently it has announced plans to open its first ever base in Norway, which will generate more than 1700 jobs in the area. At an estimated cost of 200 million dollars, the Rygge Airport in Oslo will be the airline’s thirty-seventh base in Europe. To the six routes already established, sixteen new routes and three more planes will be added. The move is expected to bring another 1.7 million passengers to the airport.

The routes originating from Oslo Airport have varied destinations like Venice, Berlin and Malaga. An estimated 100 return flights will generated after Ryanair’s latest base gets going.

Ryanair in its ever expanding mode, is also set to launch more routes from Bristol Airport in UK. Flights will cover various destinations including Spain, Portugal and Italy. To handle flight increased traffic, an additional aircraft is to be deployed at Bristol Airport.

Similarly, Ryanair has ordered two more planes to be berthed at Liverpool. These planes are set to handle more routes that will be established from the North-West. In the UK, around 400 more jobs are expected to emerge directly as a result of the Irish carrier’s expansion.

Despite the recent negative press, Ryanair is currently reported to be Europe’s fastest growing airline. Plenty of airline groups have been struggling to make ends meet, unlike Ryanair which is going ahead full steam with its expansion plans. Budget airlines continue to offer exclusive bargains to travelers, which are often what the public desires.
