Crystal offers customers favourable exchange rate
Ferry Online Travel News 08/01/2009
Crystal Cruises is hoping to encourage early bookings in the UK with exchange rates favourable to the pound.
The cruise line’s current brochure prices were on a pound to US dollar exchange rate of £1 to $1.90, but since the publication of the brochure, the value of the pound has dropped to $1.46.
In order to boost bookings by UK customers, Crystal is honouring the earlier exchange rate in some circumstances.
UK customers who have bookings on 2009 cruises but still have not paid for them in full will be able to pay at the current brochure prices as long as payment is made by 27 February.
Brochure prices are also guaranteed on new bookings that are made and paid for in full before 27 February.
Another incentive offered to customers in the UK is a discount on future bookings. For any Crystal Symphony Asia, Europe or transatlantic cruise for 2009 booked before 27 February, a 20 per cent discount will be offered on any selected voyage in 2010, with the exception of Crystal’s World Cruise.
The cruise company has also removed all fuel surcharges on 2009 cruises, in line with the recent decrease in fuel prices.
No surcharges will be applied to new bookings, and for those under deposit, the amount will be adjusted to reflect the surcharge elimination.
Those passengers who have already paid for their cruises in full will receive a credit that can be used on board, reflecting the amount of the fuel surcharge paid.
