New crossing increases Anglo-French links
Ferry Online Travel News 07/01/2008
Transmanche Ferries responds to high demand.
Transmanche Ferries has added a third daily crossing to the Dieppe/Newhaven route in response to high demand.
The four-hour ferry trip between the French port of Dieppe and the English port of Newhaven has seen an increased volume of passengers. The addition of a third crossing was largely due to the needs of freight drivers, but Transmanche Ferries hopes the extra crossing will boost the number of regular passengers as well.
Tug Horizon, an Anglo-French group that seeks to create strong bonds between Newhaven and Dieppe, has welcomed the news. Tug Horizon expects the new crossing to keep the ferry busy.
The members of Tug Horizon include anyone with a strong interest in ties between France and England, such as business people or individuals with personal interests. The group has regular meetings.
