Stena Lines is offering a pre-Christmas shopping trip for families to Holland

Stena Line, one of Europe's leading ferry operators, is offering families the chance to Christmas shop European style with its new ferry crossing schedule for December.

Marketed especially towards families looking to escape before Christmas and get some shopping in, Stena Line is offering families the chance to travel to Holland in their comfortable family cabin, arriving in Holland fresh and ready to explore the Sinterklaas festival, the Christmas markets and the European culture.

The route travels to the Hook of Holland from Harwich, landing travellers in the midst of one of Holland's biggest markets, the Dordrecht Christmas Market.

Although Rotterdam is only a short drive away, the streets of the Hook of Holland are full of live music and lively activities. The open air market is tastefully decorated in the holiday spirit, but the jewel of the village is in the area surrounding the Great Church (Grote Kerk).

One of the most memorable Christmas installations is found in the limestone caves at Valkenburg where limestone caves are transformed into Christmas enclaves.

Stena Line Ferries offers 30 daily crossings on five ferry routes within the UK. From Ireland, Stena sails from Stranraer to Belfast, Fleetwood to Larne, Holyhead to Dublin, Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire and Fishguard to Rosslare. In addition, there are two daily ferries on the company's route to Holland.
