Big discounts on ferries between UK and France
Frequent flier programs are par for the course for the classical airline industry, with every major carrier offering its customers a loyalty program. This month the ferry company SeaFrance has launched its own form of frequent travel rewards. It doesn't work quite like air miles, but the savings for those who make use of the ferry on a regular basis are attractive indeed.
The SeaFrance foute from Dover to Calais has created a 'Carnet', that when purchased in a block of 18 trips, customers can save hundreds of pounds. There is a good deal of flexibility in the package, with various departure times valid for Carnet holders, and there four different packages to chose from. Passengers that purchase passage on six journeys will pay ₤32 per journey. Ten crossings goes for ₤30 each way, ₤28 will buy you 14 one-way journeys, and the best deal is ₤26 for 18 crossings.
Holders are guaranteed passage on boats without pre-booking on the first or second boat after their arrival. The Carnet will remain valid for a year, and it' possible to give two journeys to friends or family.
