Getting to France for the Rugby World Cup
Ferry Online Travel News 28/08/2007
Rugby World Cup gets under way in France
British Airways is the official carrier of the United Kingdom national rugby team, and the team is now in France to compete in the Rugby World Cup. 'To send them off in the spirit they deserve' is what the airline stated as its goal in taking the boys over the channel for the tournament.
Even though the actual flight is a short hop of one hour and fifteen minutes from London to Charles de Gaulle International Airport in Paris, the airline wants to show its support for the country's sporting teams and clubs. 'We are proud to be behind the team and have named our aircraft in support of England. We wish the England rugby team the best of luck!' said Luisa Fernandez, the sponsorship manager for British Airways.
The pilot of the plane Ellie Hill also offered his support, 'It is an honour to fly the team to France. The rest of the crew and I wish them every success.'
For the rest of us who just want to head to France and take part in the festivities, there are many options, such as commercial flights, trains and ferries.← Ferry service to Guernsey berthed | Index | Rotterdam revamps port →
