CMN La Méridionale was founded in 1931 and provides ferry services from Corsica to Marseilles, France from 3 ports in Corsica, Ajaccio, Bastia and Propriano. It also offers links between Corsica and Porto Torres on Sardinia.
Originally La Meridionale was an international freight carrier, but then developed into a passenger carrier and now runs a service to Corsica every day as well as a twice-weekly service to Sardinia for passengers and freight.
La Meridionale operate 3 ferries, the Girolata, the Kalliste and the Scandola. All ferries have extensive on board facilities which include a restaurant, bar and cinema.
Their entire fleet provides cabins for the disabled and there is a lift on each vessel.
