Port of Plymouth services

The Port of Plymouth is situated in southwest England at the mouth of the River Tamar. The port offers the shortest ferry routes to the Iberian Peninsula and France, with sailings to Santandar, which is the capital of the autonomous community of Cantabria, and to Roscoff in the French region of Brittany.

The commercial section of the port is called Millbay Docks and operated and owned by Associated British Ports, which is the UKs largest port group.

The Port of Plymouth boasts a vast modern passenger terminal with a large number of amenities including buffet options, a currency exchange service, café for refreshments and meals, and a convenience store.

At the passenger terminal side there are both short- and long-duration car parking facilities available. Parking is free of charge.

The UK's most powerful ports group, Associated British Ports, operates the Port of Plymouth. Two principal routes are available from the port. From mid-March until mid-November, Brittany Ferries operates a crossing to Roscoff in Brittany. The duration of the trip takes approximately six hours during the day or eight hours overnight. There are up to three daily sailings.

The second route that Plymouth port serves is to Santander in the Spanish region of Cantabria. This service is available all year round, with the voyage lasting about 20 hours. The ferry departs two times a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays. The vessels are equipped for physically handicapped passengers. However, disabled passengers should notify the ferry operator or port authorities of any special assistance when they making their booking.
