Port of Newhaven services

The Port of Newhaven is located in East Sussex at the mouth of the River Ouse. It is a minor but vital facility. Situated between two piers is the entrance, protected from the sturdy wind by a strong, to the west, breakwater. The port provides a gateway to the Port of Dieppe on France's southeast coast.

Two ferry companies operate from the Port of Newhaven. Transmanche Ferries offers three daily crossings to Dieppe with a sailing time of four hours. Hoverspeed operates a faster service to Dieppe. It takes their high-speed vessel just two hours to reach Dieppe from Newhaven.

Facilities at the port aren't extensive although there is a coffee shop and convenience store. Physically handicapped passengers will find designated toilets and wheelchair accessible areas in the ferry terminal. Those with special needs should notify the port authorities or ferry operator before arrival.
