Port of Harwich services

Harwich port facility is operated and owned by the powerful Hutchison Port Holdings, which is the globe's largest independent port operator. Positioned to the Stour River's southern side in Essex, this extremely efficient, multi-purpose and modern port has become one of Great Britain's most pre-eminent North Sea ports.

The recently refurbished and expanded terminal amenities offer air-conditioning, vast and comfortable lounges, a currency exchange service, retail shops and a café-bar serving refreshments and a selection of food. The ferry port boasts an efficient, high capacity check-in system, guaranteeing the smooth and trouble-free transit of vehicles and persons.

Stena Line provides two daily ferry services to the Hook of Holland in the Netherlands, with the voyage taking about 3 hours, 45 minutes. This navigation is available for both cargo and passenger transportation.

DFDS Seaways also runs a service out of the port, with up to four weekly crossings to the German port of Cuxhaven, with the crossing taking approximately 16 hours. Also available are three to four weekly services to Esbjerg Port in Denmark, with a sailing time of approximately 19 hours. Both cars and passengers can be accommodated onboard the operating craft.

DFDS Seaways operates three weekly sea voyages to the Swedish Gothenburg Port, with journeys lasting about 36 hours. The same company also runs three sailings per week to the Port of Hamburg, Germany. Voyages last 19 hours, 30 minutes; however, both these services are cargo-only.

The terminal building provides adapted toilets for physically disabled passengers and elevators provide wheelchair accessibility. People with special needs are recommended to notify their respective ferry operator if any special assistance is required, prior to sailing.
