Ferry companies from Gothenburg

The reputed and well-established shipping companies, DFDS Seaways and Stena Line, operate sea voyages from the Port of Gothenburg. DFDS Seaways runs one crossing from Gothenburg to Newcastle Port via Kristiansand, while Stena Line provides service along two routes: Gothenburg-Frederikshavn and Gothenburg-Kiel.

Stena Line Ferry Company

Stena Line is an international transport and travel shipping company, and one of the globe's largest ferry companies. The cooperator is a leader in all of their markets. Stena Line's strong position results from the combination of strategic company acquisition and constant service and product development.

Stena Line runs up to eight services a day between Gothenburg and Frederikshavn during high season. Also, during the summer months, a high-speed service, which is operated three daily times, is available. The duration of the voyage onboard their high-speed vessel is only 2 hours.

The travel duration of the year-round sea voyage between Gothenburg and the Port of Kiel, in northern Germany, is approximately 13 hours, with crafts leaving once daily at 19:30.

All Stena Line crafts offer comfortable passenger onboard amenities, featuring many pubs and restaurants, and a cinema showing the latest releases, while their vessels transport both people and vehicles. DFDS Seaways Ferry Company

The Danish company DFDS Seaways is part of the DFDS Group of Companies. This is one of the largest shipping companies in the country. The letters 'DFDS' come from its original name, under which the firm was established in 1866: Det Forenede Dampskibs-Selskab, which means: 'The United Steamship Company'. Today, the operator carries nearly two million passengers annually. Their fleet consists of six highly advanced and modern passenger cruisers.

DFDS Seaways runs a ferry service from Gothenburg to the Port of Tyne (Newcastle) in England (via Kristiansand), two times per week. Ferries leave Gothenburg Port at 09:30 and reach Newcastle at 10:00. The return voyage leaves from Newcastle Port at 15:00. The vessel arrives at 09:15 (local time) in Kristansand after an overnight sailing. After a short stop en-route at the Port of Kristansand, the journey then continues to Gothenburg, arriving there at 17:00.
