Hilton Worldwide beat out rivals to become the first hotel partner for JetBlue’s loyalty programme.
JetBlue announced today that it had chosen Hilton Worldwide to be the first hotel partner for its loyalty programme.
The benefits of the partnership are already available to the 25 million members of the Hilton HHonors programme and the 8 million members of JetBlue’s TrueBlue programme.
For every two dollars spent at any Hilton, members will earn HHonors points and one TrueBlue point, whether they stay at an upmarket Waldorf Astoria or a more budget-minded Homewood Suites.
A special promotion running from 6 April to 15 July, registered Hilton stays earn members one TrueBlue point for every dollar spent.
HHonors members can convert hotel points to airline points at a more advantagrous rate of
5,000 HHonors points for 500 TrueBlue points.
JetBlue has not ruled out other hotel partners and, in fact, has been in talks with both Marriott and Starwood. Marriot reckons it already has enough airline partners but Starwood is interested in further dialogue.
JetBlue was driven to seek a hotel partner by members who had made it clear via the company’s online customer panel that they wanted a hotel option in their loyalty programme.
