Don't get caught out by weak supplies - book car hire as soon as possible.

This year more than ever, families planning big holidays need to arrange vehicle rentals as soon as they can.

The Irish Tourist Industry Confederation said there is a serious shortfall in the supply of car rentals needed to avoid prices spiking during the holidays.

Stuart Nassos, MD of Holiday Autos, says anybody planning to hire a vehicle needs to make their booking as soon as they can confirm their holiday plans. Failure to do so can leave families disappointed by having to splurge on unnecessarily expensive rental or worse, without any car at all.

It’s a problem the industry has repeatedly tried to tackle in the past, issuing regular advice in a bid to help customers get the best deals. But the warnings often aren’t heard by people looking for car hire during peak holiday periods.

The last thing anybody needs at holiday time is the stress of a last-minute transport problem so be sure to book your rental as soon as you know when you’ll be traveling.
