Cutting-age technology to aid in prevention of car theft

Car hire businesses and possibly military services could soon be using new cutting-edge technology made to disable vehicles in an effort to prevent car theft.

Vehicle-tracking organization based on Tyneside, Fleet M8, has said it will promote the new technology mostly at businesses with large vehicle fleets and also at military and national security departments.

The plan is that the new equipment will be able to feature options to disable a vehicle’s start-up function via email functions from the car owner. This would allow cars that are stolen to receive the signal that it is being used illegally and then the car engine will cease to operate temporarily.

The organization and its experts are also working on a system that was made to use by the military which would allow a remote signaling to cease a vehicle from operating.

Fleet M8 is now in major talks with a significant rental car operator to start using the new adaptation as the issue of car theft by bad customers is still on the rise and still a threat to car hire companies. This happens most when overseas-based hirers leave the country and never return, something which is on the rise particularly in Asia. Due to this issue, Fleet M8 proposes to be extremely useful and is working with national security with a plan to create a virtual fence bordering around boat ports across the UK which would allow signals to be sent to alert companies of any illegal traveling overseas.
