Revised schedules announced to help UK fans enjoy World Cup qualifier in France

Some good news for football fans hoping to travel to France to enjoy the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.

Irish Ferries has announced it will customize its ferry schedule next month to offer football fans convenient timings and crossings over to Dublin and France, so that they may enjoy the upcoming qualifiers for the World Cup in South Africa next year.

The Republic of Ireland will be playing France in a bid to claim World Cup qualification. The qualifier will be a two-leg competition, with the first game being held on November\er 14 at Croke Park, and the next on November 18 at the Stade de France in Paris.

Football fans will now be able to take ferry over to Dublin to catch the first play off on November 14, and a new sailing on the Oscar Wilde ferry will provide a Rosslare to Cherbourg connection to help the fans get to the Stade de Paris game on November 17.

The Oscar Wilde will leave Rosslare at 14:00 hrs on November 17, and will dock at Cherbourg ferry port at 10 am the following morning, allowing football enthusiasts plenty of time to get to Paris in time for the game.

The return leg of the journey will leave the Cherbourg ferry port at 21:30 on November 19, and arrive back in Rosslare the next day,

The special schedules should come as welcome news for the football fans, especially as budget airlines like Ryanair and easyJet have increased their Paris fares significantly around these dates, in order to cash in on the high demand created by the World Cup qualifying matches.
