Seabourn cruises to expand in Asia
Ferry Online Travel News 05/02/2009
The Yachts of Seabourn, a leader in luxury cruising, is planning a major Asian expansion from 2010.
The elite cruise operator has announced that for the first time it will offer year-round cruising in Asia, and that it will be adding a number of new ports of call, as well, including Dalian, China; Nagasaki and Kagoshima, in Japan; and Busan and Inchon.
In 2010, Seabourn will also return to Indonesia after several years away from the sprawling island nation, making calls at tourist favorites such as Bali, Borneo, the Karimoenjawa archipelago and Komodo Island.
The company’s expansion in Asia coincides with the addition of two new vessels. The three-ship line will add a fourth cruise ship this summer - the 450-passenger Seabourn Odyssey; and a fifth ship will debut in 2010 - the 450-passenger Seabourn Sojourn. Both of the new vessels are considerably larger than the current Seabourn cruise ships.
“One of the many benefits of our new building program is the ability to add exotic new itineraries in 2010 and 2011,” noted the president and CEO of Seabourn, Pamela Conover. “We are very excited about them, and we think our guests will be, too."
