A man presumed drowned has resurfaced after 15 years

Fifteen years ago, Walter Dominy’s car was found abandoned on the Rosslare-to-Fishguard ferry with a suicide note inside. The father of four was assumed to be drowned at sea. But the man’s eldest daughter recently revealed that Dominy is, in fact, alive and well, and has been living all this time in Toulouse, France.

Lorna Dominy recently spoke to the Sun newspaper with her incredible story. "I can’t live with the lies and deceit any more. The pressure of trying to keep up my parents’ charade has cost us all dear. It put so much strain on my marriage it broke up," she said.

In 1993, Mr. Dominy sold his company in Dorset and moved to Ireland. He started a new business there but it amassed debts of £200,000 and was declared bankrupt. In October his car and the suicide note were found although there was no trace of Mr. Dominy or his body.

Lorna claims her father contacted the family three months after his disappearance on the ferry, swearing his wife, Margaret, and the children into secrecy. According to Lorna, he lived and worked in Northern Ireland for a while, before moving to France.

Mr. Dominy is currently 71 years old and is allegedly living under a false identity and collecting three state pensions, only one of which is in his name.
