A man is in hospital after jumping from a ferry into the Rivery Mersey

On November 13th, a man plunged from a ferry which was crossing the River Mersey from Liverpool to Seacombe.

The man, who seemed to be aged between 45 and 50 years old, appeared to have jumped from the vessel at 11:15.

River rescue teams from Merseyside were immediately alerted by the coastguards and launched into action.

Les Moulsdale, the acting team leader, confirmed that a man jumped from the ferry. 'We found a male face down in the water. We pulled him into the boat and immediately started CPR and oxygen,' he said.

At the landing stage, the rescue teams were greeted by paramedics who took the man to Arrowe Park hospital where he is receiving treatment. Details of his current condition have not been released.
