For the second year in a row, SpeedFerries wins the Travel Awards 'Best Ferry Company' prize.

Readers of three British newspapers recently voted on their favorite travel service providers of the year in the 21st annual Travel Awards. According to the readers of the Guardian, The Observer and Guardian Unlimited, SpeedFerries, a low-cost ferry operator, is the Best Ferry Company.

A SpeedFerries spokesperson said: 'The scoring of these awards is designed to reward quality, rather than quantity, so it is not surprising that SpeedFerries, a small family run company, has outstripped the stiffest competition from long-established rivals in the industry throughout the UK.'

SpeedFerries was launched in 2004. This is the second consecutive year the company has scooped up the prestigious award. In addition, since its launch, SuperFerries has also won the award for the Best European Crossing Operator award at the Telegraph Travel Awards in 2005.
